What materials do you use for a home poker tournament?
I'm setting up a home poker tournament. So far I have plenty of chips and cards, a table, felt, a timer, dealer, small blind and big blind buttons… what else could I use?
A cut card would be helpful. Food for your guests, something like chili, a sandwich bar, pretzels, peanuts, etc. is best because you don't have to worry about greasy fingers on your cards and chips. A chart with the chip denominations if they're printed not on your chips is a good idea, as is a chart for the blind schedules so everyone knows them.
If you want to do pizza, I'd suggest having a dinner break part way through it so people aren't getting pizza grease and sauce all over everything.

A cut card or card protecter, that way people can't see the bottom card, I usually use the joker of a different deck turned backwards. A lot of people don;t think about people seeing the bottom card during a deal, but if you got pocket 9's and see a 9 on the bottom, you will throw away your hand.
